In Memory Of  . . .
Here we remember those that were so special to us but have crossed the rainbow bridge to greener pastures . . .

Watcha Peppy Girl
1997 Red Roan/Overo Mare * 14.2 Hands ~ 1100 lbs.

September 10, 2012

On September 10, 2012 we said good-bye to one of our good ole girls. PG was our first APHA broodmare.  She came to us from Arizona in April, 2005 with a one month bay/tobiano colt on her side.  She went on to produce five wonderful fillies with Freckie and served as my ranch horse show mount in 2005, 2006, and 2007, highlighted by winning the high-point amateur all-around at the Lake City show in July 2006.  In October 2005, we learned to rope together and we continued until her children took her place.

This picture was one of the last taken of us, just minutes before we said good-bye forever.  This was one of the most difficult decisions we have ever had to make, but she had been plagued by chronic foot and shoulder pain as a result of injuries sustained in cutting training.  She put up a good fight but it was time to let her rest.  The good ones die young.

Pictures below from our IRHA show days.
She was a GOOD ONE.

Always a great mama - pictures below of PG and her last baby, the day she was born - April 24, 2012.

Silky and Marshmallow continue to live at North Pine Farm and will carry on their mother's legacy as Shelly and Scott's main riding horses.
Spunky didn't move very far from home and visits often with her owner, too.
